A process is claimed for melt-fabricating articles from blends of 45- 95 wt.% PET and 5-55 wt.% toughening polymer (I), under conditions which minimise PET crystallisation, pref. in the absence of nucleating agent and pref. keeping the surfaces of the melt- fabricating equipment in contact with the polymer blend below 100≦̸C. (I) is selected from: (a) copolymers of at least 70 wt.% C2-5 alpha - olefin and at most 30 wt.% alpha-, beta unsatd. carboxylic acid (II) ; (b) copolymers of 40-95 wt.% ethylene, 0.5-20 wt.% (II) and 10-40 wt.% ethylenically unsatd. monomers; (c) ionomers obtd. by complete or partial neutralisation of (a) or (b) with Zn or Mg; (d) a copolymer comprising 40-90 wt.% E, 10-40 wt.% X and 0.5-20 wt.% Y, where E= ethylene; X= carboxylic ester of formula CH2= C(R2)H-C(O)-O- R1 |
