An ink for fingerprinting is produced by mixing 600-650g wax as a coagulant with 950-980g solvent, e.g. castor oil or mineral oil, dissolving the mixt. at 110-130 deg. C for 30-40 mins., quickly cooling it to the room temp., and adding 1400-1500g carbon powder as a pigment and 2400-2600g mugwort to it.
