In a valve arrangement for the control of a plurality of simultaneously operable hydraulic consumers independently of load, to which in each case a directional control valve for controlling the pressure-medium quantity and a pressure balance are allocated, the pressure balance is arranged between the consumer and a tank-side control edge of the directional control valve. Acting on the control piston of the pressure balance is the pressure difference between the pressure at the tank-side control edge in accordance with the pressure difference to the tank and in the opposite direction a pressure signal of a low-level external pressure source. According to the invention, not only pushed loads but also pushing loads can be levelled independently of load. Furthermore, the pump controller of a variable-displacement pump can also be influenced as a function of the consumers in order to influence the delivery flow of the pump in accordance with the requirements of the consumers.
