The device for turning and securing a central wheel nut of a motor vehicle wheel on a wheel bolt which is connected to a wheel hub comprises essentially the wheel bolt with a locking pin. The latter is arranged so as to be axially displaceable between locking balls in the bolt. The locking balls engage in a securing position with the locking pin and at the same time can be adjusted radially outwards during which process they lock into receptacles of an internal locking section of the wheel nut.
