<p>PURPOSE:To speed up various operations such as the rewriting, movement, etc., of the display contents of a display memory by making a multiwindow display by hardware. CONSTITUTION:The multiwindow display is controlled by a window control circuit 12, a segmentation/selection circuit 13, and a color look-up table 14. In this case, this display device is equipped with a display address table memory 15 for storing the X and Y directions of the display screen and N (N is integer large than two and equal to the number of bit plane memories 20.) X- and Y-directional window start address registers and window end address registers included in the window control circuit 12. Therefore, while the number of the bit plane memories 20 is regarded as the largest number of windows, the multiwindow display is made by the hardware. Consequently, the rewriting and movement of the display contents in the display memory are speeded up and the multiwindow display is easily and smoothly made.</p> |
