PURPOSE:To detect an abnormality such as a decrease in a capacity or the like of a capacitor element body at an initial stage by means of a simple constitution by installing an ultrasonic-wave generation means which generates ultrasonic waves when a voltage is generated at a neutral point. CONSTITUTION:When an abnormality such as a decrease in a capacity or the like is caused in at least one capacitor element constituting a capacitor element body 3 during an operation of a capacitor device A, a voltage is generated at a neutral point 5. A voltage, of this voltage, divided by a stray capacity among a piezoelectric element 7, a shield 6 and a container 1 is applied to the piezoelectric element 7; the piezoelectric element 7 is operated to generate ultrasonic waves. The ultrasonic waves generated with the piezoelectric element 7 reach a side wall of the container 1 by an insulating gas inside the container 1 and are received by a piezoelectric element 8. When a detection apparatus is connected to the piezoelectric element 8, an abnormality of the capacitor device A can be confirmed. |
