A device for protecting narrow end regions against mechanical damage is proposed. The device comprises essentially a hard rubber piece which is bent in a U-shaped manner and can be pushed resiliently in a friction fit onto the narrow end region, to be protected, of a larger object. The device is particularly suitable for ski ends which are to be protected during transport against material-destroying blows.
