In order to improve the ventilation possibilities of profiled seals for windows, doors or similar structural parts of wall openings, despite a good degree of leaktightness with respect to the penetration of water, the sealing surface of the sealing lip (2), which stands up from a basic part (1), is provided with elevations (3) which are arranged in at least two rows running essentially in the longitudinal direction of the seal. It is recommended to offset the elevations (3a) of one row (4a) with respect to the elevations (3b) of the other row (4b) such that the valleys (9) between the elevations (3a) of one row (4a) are located opposite elevations (3b) of the other row (4b). <IMAGE>
