The friction coupling (1), especially for motor vehicles, has a housing attached to a pressure-plate (3). A plate spring (7) is movably supported on the housing and acts upon the plate spring. Between the plate spring and the pressure plate (3) is a shock-absorbent, such as plastics intermediate layer (13) on which the plate spring is directly mounted. USE/ADVANTAGE - The coupling is designed so that no hammering occurs between the pressure plate and plate spring and is noiseless.
