A variable underframe for tables, with standing legs, transverse crossmembers arranged on the standing legs and longitudinal crossmembers fixed to the transverse crossmembers, has on the frontal ends of the transverse crossmembers clamping-lug connections in which the longitudinal crossmembers inserted into them can be firmly clamped.
