In the production of steam pressure-cured gas concrete (aerated concrete), a castable composition consisting essentially of hydraulic binders, finely milled aggregates rich in silica, gas formers, auxiliaries and water is cast into a casting mould. A plurality of immersion vibrators are dipped, uniformly distributed, into the cast composition and, directly after casting of the composition into the casting mould is complete, are simultaneously briefly set into vibration for about 15-25 seconds and are subsequently immediately removed from the composition again.
