The bottle cleaning device has an additional spray station (16) provided in the area of the upper turning loop of the conveyor chain (7) between the pre-soak container (11) and the soaking lye bath (13). This extra spray station is connected by a branch pipe (18) which removes a partial streamm, to the pipe line of the high pressure hot lye spray station (20) or to a pipe line beginning at the end of the soaking lye bath. The partition (14) is mounted between the presoak container (11) and the soaking lye bath up to a height which ensures that the spray water from the additional spray station drains into the soaking lye bath. ADVANTAGE - A better cleaning action is achieved without any increase in energy.
