The level sensor has an improved lifespan. Sensor comprises a hollow member one end of which is fixed and other end of which is blocked, and having a predetermined wall thickness. An inner vibration member is provided in the blocked end of the hollow member and is fixed to the end by a blocking member which is not a diaphragm and is thicker than the holow member wall thickness. A vibrator is included for the inner vibration member with the blocking member coupling vibration from the vibration member to the hollow member. The latter is forced into vibration, and a sensor detects a decrease of vibration.
