The ladders which are used nowadays in the case of fruit growing and have screwed-on, extensible supports can only be used at the edge of scattering fruit trees; the supports can only be unscrewed when the ladder is turned over. In the case of the novel type, the supports are intended to be fitted only once the ladder has been set up and to be usable at barely accessible locations. A nut-like internal thread (1) is integrated in the SS. Subsequently, the guide part (2) and the bell-shaped part (3) are fitted. The SS is fitted at the top on the fastening screw (4) with a clearance of approximately 3 mm. The fastening screw is fastened on the end side of the ladder, on the frame (5). The SS may also be fitted on a ball joint. In the case of fruit growing, the supports, after the ladder has been set up, are guided at the rear, through the branches, from the ground, obliquely into approximately the correct supporting inclination and are screwed into the SS by approximately 6 revolutions. If branch supports are used, these are screwed into the SS, from within the tree, and fastened on branches. <IMAGE>
