Trap release, in particular step release

The step release is used for releasing striking or gripping traps. The area of use is land on which trapping with traps which have a trigger release is unsuccessful. Environmental awareness and the improvement of trapping results require trap releases which effectively come into operation where other trap releases are unsuccessful in order effectively to combat forest pests. This requirement is satisfied by the step release described by a release mechanism of special mobility being produced, which only brings about release of a trap when there is stepping contact of an animal on it. As releases of this type hold apart two centres of gravity of the trap which are to be moved towards one another, it is necessary that the release is of simple and safe connected type in order to be able to set it particularly rapidly and safely between the pressure points. This is possible as it uniquely consists of only two levers which are interconnected rigidly but movably. The difficult handling encountered in other very complicated step releases, which in some cases work with two to four levers, is eliminated. All trigger releases which are to be baited are unsuccessful in the case of passing through of an animal which, however, takes no notice of the bait and not suitable for productive trapping.
