PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF UNSATURATED POLYESTER RESIN

Low viscosity flame retardant unsatd. polyester resin is prepd. by introducion and copolymerization of 20-90 mol % (pref. 30-80 mol %) of tetrahydrophthalic acid anhydride and/or dicyclopentadiene and 3- 30 mol % of ring carboxylic acid having unsatd. bond in the reacter w.r.t. total acid component to synthesize structure-modified unsatd. polyester alkyde having other unsatd. bond beside alpha, beta - ethylenic dicarboxylic acid (anhydride), when polycondesation of alpha, beta -ethylene based dicarboxylic acid (anhydride) selectively removes the other unsatd. bond in the molecules.
