PURPOSE:To execute the flaw detection scanning in the peripheral direction without executing a rotation of an object to be detected by inserting concentrically the object to be detected into a hollow rotating body filled with an ultrasonic transfer liquid. CONSTITUTION:A rack base 20 is fixed and provided on a base 21, and supports a hollow rotating body 22 so as to be freely rotatable around a horizontal axis. Subsequently, one end of a void 22a of the hollow rotating body 22 is formed to a large diameter part and on its center part, an opening 25 is provided, and an ultrasonic probe 26 is fixed toward the center axis of the rotating body. In this state, the tip part of a nuclear fuel rod 3 held by a holding device 40 is inserted into the hollow rotating body through the opening 25, and a part to be detected is set to a position opposed to the probe 26. Next, when water being an ultrasonic transfer liquid is supplied into the rotating body 22 through a feed water pipe 33 until it becomes a filled state, and the rotating body 22 is rotated around the axis by a motor 28 and a belt 30, the probe 26 rotates around the nuclear fuel rod 3 and can execute a flaw detection. |
