PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of the device by providing two slide variable resistances fitted on a base substrate so that indirect operating elements cross each other and a main operating element which is fitted to a holding member. CONSTITUTION:The indirect operating elements VR1b and VR2b of the two slide variable resistances VR1 and VR2 are arranged orthogonally and the main operating element 9R which can be operated while the orthogonal relation between the indirect operating elements VR1b and VR2b is maintained at all times is provided thereupon. Further, a cover plate 39 having a part which moves arcuately is provided between the main operating element 9R and slide variable resistances VR1 and VR2. Consequently, the thickness of the device is reducible and the operable range of the main operating element 9R is maximized.
