<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacture cost and to increase the area by determining the position where a picture element is formed every picture element units mechanically. CONSTITUTION:A spouting head for pigment drops consists of a piezoelectric part 104 which functions to convert an external electric signal into a mechanical expansion signal and nozzles 105 which spouts the pigment drops. The three nozzles 105 are arranged corresponding to the pigments of R, G, and B and the spouting head 103 is arranged on a color substrate. In this case, a mechanism which moves in both directions on one axis while holding the distance between the substrate surface and nozzle tip constant is provided. Namely, when the electric signal is applied to the piezoelectric part 104 from outside to apply the mechanical expansion signal to the nozzle, the respective pigment drops are spouted from the nozzle openings to stick on the surface of a coupling layer 102 and become the original bodies 106 of color picture elements, thus forming the respective picture elements. Then the spouting heads 103 are moved by a pitch of three picture elements and the same operation is repeated. Consequently, the color filter is formed fast at high yield.</p> |
