<p>An apparatus for examining human metabolism through analysis of the respired air is provided with a connecting piece (21) for a patient mouth-piece and a connecting ring (14, 15) for a hose to the apparatus, an inhalation valve (8) which opens as a result of inhalation and an exhalation valve (17) which opens as a result of exhalation. The two connectiong elements (14, 15, 21) are disposed in line with each other on a substantially cylindrical housing (1, 20). Preferably the inhalation valve (8) is formed by several valve members on the periphery of a valve ring (4) having a regular polygon section, which is placed inside the housing (1), in such a way that each valve member (8) is aligned with a corresponding peripheral window (3).</p> |
