PURPOSE:To perform a fast printing by means of fast-drying ink even in a low temperature state by so controlling ink jet head driving means that the discharge amount of aqueous ink at the time of a low temperature is reduced to be lower than that at the time of a high temperature. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 5 detects the temperature of an ink jet head 2 by means of a thermistor 4, controls it at constant-temperature at a highest available temperature through a heater 3, drives the ink jet head 2 through the heater and a head driver 8, and injects an aqueous ink droplet toward a recording sheet to print it as predetermined. In this case, the control circuit 5 so reduced a driving voltage VH from a power source 7 as to reduce the discharge amount of the aqueous ink at the time of a low temperature than that at the time of a high temperature in response to an available environmental temperature detected by means of a thermistor 6 to drive the head 2. Thus, a printing quality is slightly reduced in a low temperature region, but fast dryness can be improved. |
