<p>A tool for stripping the insulation and screen layers from coax cable is described (Figure 4) having a series of parallel blades 52-56 held in required position by spacers and contained in a cutter box 50 bayonet connected to an actuator including a finger ring 20 which is spring driven to carry the blades towards the cable extending through a cable guide 100. A catch 30 is provided to hold the actuator in a withdrawn position allowing cable insertion, the final portion of the movement of the actuator and blades towards the cable is controlled by a ratchet engaged by pawl 31 to hold the cutters in the displaced position whilst the tool is rotated about the cable to complete the cuts through the various screen and insulation layers.</p> |
