The pontoon, for a bridge element in yachting harbours, for example, comprises a floating body 1. Heavy elements 4 of concrete, for example, are fixed to each side 2 of the floating body 1 by means of arms 3, which extend down into the water. The elements are tapered downwards and have a horizontal upper surface 5. The pontoon is less sensitive to the action of the waves than hitherto known pontoons.
