PURPOSE: To form a concentrated lighting system appropriate for vehicle by sealing the xenon gas or the like at a specified pressure in an envelope in an optical light transmitting device connected to a high luminance light source. CONSTITUTION: A lighting system 10 includes a high luminance light source 20 for supplying the required quantity of light corresponding to front/rear lighting of a vehicle and cabin lighting. Head lamp devices 40A, 40B for front lighting are connected to the light source 20 through optical guides 22A, 22B and optical light transmitting devices 30C, 30D connected to these optical guides 22A, 22B. Lamp devices 50A, 50B for rear lighting are similarly connected to the light source 20. The inert gas at 10-1500 deg. Torr is pressurized and sealed in an envelope of the light source 20, and includes a metal selected among Na, Sc, Tl, In, Sn, Ho and Th, the metal halogenated material selected among I, Br and Cl, and Hg at about 5-50 mg per 1 cm<3> of lamp volume. |
