PURPOSE:To control damping force smoothly and increase comfortability in driving, by subtracting the amount of damping force to be lowered for suppressing up-and-down vibration from a target damping force obtained from the force applied on a vehicle and driving a valve means to meet that result, in a cylinder and piston type titled device. CONSTITUTION:Output signals from a steering wheel turning angle sensor 55, vehicle speed sensor 56, longitudinal direction accelerating sensor 38 and lateral direction accelerating sensor 57 are input into a main CPU 60, and a target damping force for suppressing variation in vehicle height is calculated using a force applied onto a vehicle body. On the other hand, vibration applied onto the vehicle body is detected by vibration sensors 41 to 44, input into a sub- controller 51, and the amount of damping force to be lowered for suppressing the up and down vibration is calculated. The amount of damping force to be lowered is subtracted from the target damping force by the sub-CPU 40 and the driving of the valve means for shock absorbers 1 to 4 is controlled using that result. With this constitution, a suspension can be controlled smoothly. |
