PURPOSE:To shorten the starting time by feeding the starting auxiliary fuel from a cold start injector in an engine cutting off the intake air and fuel to an operating cylinder group and feeding back the discharge gas to a resting cylinder group for a partial cylinder operation during a light load operation. CONSTITUTION:When said internal combustion engine is transferred to a light load operation condition, a negative pressure is introduced to the first diaphragm device 26 to close an intake cutoff valve 24, then the inflow of the intake air to resting cylinders 10d-10f is cut off and also a rest side main injector is made off, thus cutting off the fuel feed to the resting cylinders 10d-10f. In addition, a negative pressure is introduced to the second diaphragm device 42 to fully open a discharge cutoff valve 40, and the discharge gas is fed back to the resting cylinders 10d-10f through a discharge feed back pipe 38 for a partial cylinder operation condition. In this case, a current is fed to a cold start injector 50 during starting, and the starting auxiliary fuel is injected through a nozzle 50a to the valve plate face 24a of the intake cutoff valve 24 to attain the desired object. |
