The invention concerns a method and an arrangement for removing packaging 8 from a compacted fibre bale 9 held together by the packaging 8, for example a pressure- compacted glass-fibre bale. The bale 9 is first placed in a receiving enclosure 1. The packaging 8 is then cut open in the enclosure 1, so that the bale 9 expands therein and thus presses the cut-open packaging 8 outwards against the inner limit surfaces 2 - 5 of the enclosure 1. The expanded bale 9 is pressed out from the enclosure 1 through a delivery opening and, as the bale 9 is pressed out, the cut-open packaging 8 is maintained in the enclosure 1 by means of a frictional engagement, developed by the expansion of the bale 9, between the packaging 8 and the said limit surfaces 2 - 5. <IMAGE> |
