New post-chlorinated ethylene-1 copolymer has (a) 1-2 CH3 gps. per 100 C atoms, (b) 25-35 wt.% Cl content, (C) wt. average mol. wt. at least 100000, (d) heat of fusion at most 0.5 cal/g as determined by differential scanning calorimetry, and (e) ethylene content 93-97 wt.% and butene-1 content 7-3 wt.%. The copolymer has excellent rubber properties both at room temp. and at low temp.. It can be mfd. with reproducible quality and without agglomeration, used e.g. to form a vulcanised laminate or to prepare an adhesive for vulcanised rubbers.
