A trasparent liquid phase iron detergent compsn. contains 10-50 wt.% caustic soda, 10-30 wt.% meat- or para-sodium silicate, 0.1-10 wt.% triethanol amine, and 1-10 wt.% alkylglucoside-non ionic surfactant of formula (I). In (I), m is 1-100; n is 9-11. The detergent has a potent detergency effect for removing impurties of waste oils.
