<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently recover noble metal contained in a catalyst, etc., by circulating a soln. contg. the noble metal as an electrolytic soln. from an electrode consisting of specified fine spheres of porous carbon toward the counter electrode, depositing the noble metal on the carbon electrode and incinerating this electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 3 is formed with fine spheres of optically anisotropic porous carbon contg. >=90% particles of <=80mum particle size and having 1,000-5,000m<2>/g specific surface area or a molded body of the fine spheres. The electrode 3 is put on a net 2 of a current collector and a counter electrode 4 is set above the electrode 3. Both ends of a circulation passage 6 fitted with a pump 5 are connected to the top and bottom of an electrolytic cell 1 and a soln. contg. a noble metal is circulated as an electrolytic soln. from the electrode 3 toward the counter electrode 4. Electric current is supplied between the electrodes 3, 4 to deposit the noble metal on the electrode 3 by electrolysis. The electrode 3 with the deposited noble metal is taken out and incinerated and the noble metal is recovered from the residue.</p> |
