Described are selectable Herpesvirus saimiri vectors which have a selection gene inserted in a junction region of the L- and H-DNA. Vectors of this type are capable of persistent infection of human T cells and thus suitable for the expression of foreign genes in human T cells. An additional advantage is that no infectious virus particles are produced. |
