PURPOSE:To readily obtain thermal energy storage pellets having a high thermal energy storage capacity per unit by impregnating a thermal energy storage material into the surfaces or interiors of bubbles in resin pellets consisting of a crosslinked and expanded polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:The objective pellets obtained by pre-exposing crosslinked and expanded polyolefin resin pellets having closed cells to reduced pressure to reduce gases in the closed cells, subjecting the above-mentioned pellets to impregnation treatment with a thermal energy storage material even into the closed cells utilizing ultrasonic vibration, etc. Furthermore, crystalline long-chain alkylhydrocarbons, crystalline higher fatty acids (esters) and crystalline higher aliphatic alcohols, etc., are cited as preferred examples of the thermal energy storage material. |
