PURPOSE:To regenerate cation and anion exchange resins by connecting a separation and regeneration tower to a resin control tower with a transfer pipe in the ideal state for mutually transferring cation exchange resins in both the towers. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of used anion and cation exchange resins is put in a separation and regeneration tower 1 and an upper layer of the anion exchange resin 2 and a lower layer of the cation exchange resin 3 are formed. When the position of the separating boundary plane 4 between both the ion exchange resins is above a prescribed position, a valve 18 fitted to the overflow pipe 17 of a resin control tower 5 and a valve 7 fitted to a transfer pipe 6 for drawing and transferring resin are opened and part of the cation exchange resin 3 in the tower 1 is drawn and held in the state of transferring to the resin control tower. A valve 12 fitted to the feed pipe 11 of the tower 1 for transferring resin is then opened and water for transferring resin is introduced into the tower 1 to transfer the drawn cation exchange resin 3 to the tower 5. |
