PURPOSE: To permit operation with high efficiency by sliding port plates to selectively open and close ports by the rotation of a crankshaft, and driving a piston perpendicularly with respect to a sliding face of the port plates. CONSTITUTION: Four crank pins 18 arranged with a phase of a difference of 180 degrees with respect to each other slide port plates 35a-35d via legs 41a-41d of a bearing housing 20, and selectively open and close ports 32a-32d communicating a crankcase 37 and a positive displacement chamber 23, and ports 33a-33d communicating the positive displacement chamber 23 and an opening 31, by the rotation of a crankshaft 2. Simultaneously, pistons 22a-22d are driven to effect the compression, discharge and suction of the positive displacement chamber 23. The amount of movement of the pistons 22a-22d is variable by the axial position of a control rod arranged in the crankshaft 2. Thus, it is possible to permit operation of a pump and a motor with high efficiency in a wide range of speed and pressure. |
