The deformable corrugations are divided into independent groups 6, 7 and 8, the ends of which are alternately fixed to the connection end-fittings 3, 4 and to self-contained intermediate sleeves 11, 13 which on the one hand provide the stability of the compensator despite its long length and, on the other hand, evenly distribute the loads in contraction following the abutment effect of the rings 9, 14 against the said sleeves. <IMAGE>
