PURPOSE:To separate the gaseous phase from the liquid phase stably even in an environment under an influence of minute gravity or under a condition of minute flow rate by generating a magnetic field in a section of a conducting passage of electric current by an effect of electromagnetic force on an electroconductive liquid, and separating an electroconductive flow consisting of a gaseous phase and a liquid phase into a gaseous phase and a liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:Electric current is conducted through a pair of electrodes 11, 12 disposed in a passage of an electroconductive flow consisting of a gaseous phase and a liquid phase, and a magnetic field is generated simultaneously by means of a magnet 17 in the section of the passage where the electric current is conducted. Thus, an electromagnetic force in a direction of a wall of the passage is exerted on the electroconductive liquid utilizing the Fleming's left hand rule, and the electroconductive two phase flow is separated into a gaseous phase and a liquid phase in a gas-liquid separating zone 5. As the result, stable separation of gas from liquid even in an environment under an influence of minute gravity or under a condition of minute flow rate has become possible. |
