An .alpha.2-plasmin inhibitor analog and a highly productive plasmid for expression of .alpha.2-plasmin inhibitor Replacing Leu13 in the natural .alpha.2-plasmin inhibitor amino acid sequence by Phe13 leads to an effective .alpha.2-plasmin inhibitor analogue. It can be prepared by genetic engineering, especially in an expression system using E. coli host cells.
