The invention concerns a method for separation of plastic particles from solutions, especially pulp and paper fiber solutions. The plastic particles in a solution 1 are separated electrically by placing an anode and a cathode 2, 3, as well as a reference electrode 4 in a solution and controlling the potential on the anode and cathode 2 and 3 in such a way that the anode potential is at most 2800 mV SCE or the cathode potential is at least -3500 mV SCE. The method is carried out by controlling the electrodes' 2, 3 potential to ranges in which gas development is selectively produced on electrodes 2, 3. The invention also concerns an arrangement for execution of the method.
