Anchorage structure for heavy cladding panels - uses edge flanges on anchorage channels to clamp panel edges against leaf springs at rear

For securing heavy panels such as stone or artificial stone panels to the exterior of a building, special metal channels with accessories are used. Each channel (1) has outwardly extending flanges (2) at the ends of its sides. These flanges retain the edges of the cladding panels (3) and the gap between the sides is filled by a strip (5) shaped to fit inside with a snap action. Behind each channel is a suitably shaped leaf spring (7) secured by a bolt (9) through the back of the channel. The edge of a cladding panel is retained between a spring and a flange (2). Corner fittings also alternative designs are shown. ADVANTAGE - Easily installed, giving good decorative effect and permitting movement due to expansion etc.
