A cleaning compsn. for removing wax comprises at least one of hydrocarbon cpd., fluorinated alcohol and opt. polar solvent in wt. ratio of 90-30: 5-65: 5-65. The hydrocarbon cpd. is pref. methylene chloride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, 1,3-dichloropropane, octane, toluene or cyclohexane. The fluorinated alcohol is a compsn. of formula X(CnF2n)CmH2mOH [X=H or F;m= 1-3; n= 1-10 . The polar solvent is pref. alcohol, ketone, nitrile, nitrobenzen, formaldehyde or trifluoroacetic acid.
