<p>PURPOSE:To promote the flocculation of activated sludge by bringing the supernatant liq. obtained by biologically treating a nitrogen-contg. soln. and irradiated with light into contact with activated sludge, or irradiating the activated sludge used in the biological treatment of a nitrogen-contg. soln. with light. CONSTITUTION:A nitrogen-contg. soln. is biologically treated with activated sludge, and the activated sludge contg. the formed nitrite or nitrate is separated from the soln. (sedimentation, separation by filtration, centrifugal separation, membrane separation, etc.). The obtained supernatant liq. is irradiated with light, and then brought into contact with the activated sludge. Alternatively, the nitrogen-contg. soln. is treated with activated sludge, and the obtained sludge contg. the formed nitrite or nitrate is irradiated with light. By this method, activated sludge is flocculated and concentrated.</p> |
