PURPOSE:To continuously shoot bullets at an ultrahigh speed by providing a starting mechanism for applying an initial speed to the bullet and an accelerating mechanism for further accelerating the bullet applied by the initial speed. CONSTITUTION:Operating liquid 29 is poured in a discharge tube 26 by an operating liquid supplying unit 28, a valve 28a is closed, and the switch 14 of a main vibration circuit C is closed to start charging of a capacitor 13. Then, the switch 14 of a sub vibration circuit B is closed to induce an arc discharge between the discharge tube (first sub electrode) 26 and a second sub electrode 17. Thus, gas pressure in the discharge tube 26 is abruptly raised, the operating liquid 29 is collided to the rear end face of a bullet 25 to be charged in a barrel 21 to drive the bullet 25 in a direction of an arrow. Then, the operating liquid 29 bring the substrate 23 as a second main electrode into electric contact with the barrel 21 as a first main electrode, and induces an arc discharge 29a. Accordingly, energy stored in the capacitor 13 of the main vibration circuit C is applied to the operating liquid 29. Consequently, the operating liquid 29 is abruptly vaporized to additionally accelerate the bullet 25. |
