PURPOSE:To detect the temperature of ink in an ink jet head with high accuracy and quick response and thereby ensure stable printing quality by holding an intermediate member with two auxiliary heads and holding tightly a thermister element section in a hole for embedding thermister elements provided in the intermediate member using a heat transfer resin. CONSTITUTION:Two auxiliary heads are positioned and fixed so that an intermediate member 6 consisting of a metal material such as aluminum, diecast zinc or brass is held by a device such as a screw stopper in an auxiliary head fixing direction as shown by arrows A, B. In this way, the one sides of each auxiliary head comes in contact with the intermediate member 6. Furthermore, the surface where the auxiliary head 5 comes in contact with the intermediate member 6 is controlled in terms of size accuracy so that nozzles are accurately spaced. Thermister elements 8 are covered with heat transfer resin 9 with high thermal conductivity and mounted in the intermediate member 6. Therefore, the temperature of ink in the auxiliary head 5 can be detected with high response and accuracy. |
