In known rotating-piston machines, the fact that pressures of different amounts prevail in the gap spaces between the housing and the rotors results in a pressure-equalising gas stream which, under some circumstances, carries the grease charge out of the bearings. Known measures against this, namely O-rings or lip rings, cause considerable friction moments. The compressor/supercharger according to the invention therefore has the features that portions of the recesses (7) receiving the rolling-bearing outer ring, the said portions being present on both sides of the rolling bearings (5), are bypassed by means of at least one connecting channel (13). The compressor/supercharger has a longer life in comparison with those which are known and is suitable for use as an air pump. <IMAGE>
