PURPOSE:To form an inner layer having various dimensions and shapes and to sufficiently and inexpensively prepare an article made of a composite material containing the PTFE inner layer and an FRP outer layer by applying butt- welding to the plate-shaped end parts of commercial PTFE members. CONSTITUTION:The first plate-shaped end part 30 made of polytetrafluoroethylene and the second plate-shaped end part 32 made of polytetrafluoroethylene are abutted mutually. Fiber reinforced plastic in a softened and molten state is applied to both end parts on a single surface side so as to extend over both of them and cured to form a tack layer 34. Subsequently, a welding material in a molten state is applied between both of them and cured to weld both of them. Then, the tack layer 34 is removed and a welding material 38 in a molten state is applied between the first and second plate-shaped end parts on the single surface side thereof and cured to weld both of them to form an inner layer made of polytetrafluoroethylene. Subsequently, fiber reinforced plastic in a softened and molten state is applied to the single surface of the inner layer and cured to form a reinforced outer layer 42. |
