PURPOSE:To prevent gas leakage only with a single press plate and thereby enhance the performance by forming uneven surface with large protrusions and recesses only around the press plate and at the manifold part, causing direct contacting with a tile with protrusions laminated, and thereby producing a fuel battery stack. CONSTITUTION:When a stack is produced by lamination of cells C formed by pinching a tile 1 with two electrode, i.e., anode 2 and cathode 3, from both sides, only a single press plate 10 is used as a separator I which is interposed between cells C and functions as a partition plate. The gaps formed at both surfaces by this uneven surface 14 shall be put in communication with a gas passage 11, and the heights of protrusions at both surfaces of the part where this passage 11 is formed shall be equal, and anode 2 and cathode 3 are placed even in the recesses and protrusion 14 in the perimeter. Further in the perimeter of the plate 10, protrusions 16 are formed by press to both surfaces more than the unevenness in the part where the passage 11 is formed and the unevenness 14 in the perimeter so as to have direct contacting with the periphery of the tile 1 on which protrusions 16 are laminated. Gas leakage is thus prevented only with a single press plate as a fuel battery stack. |
