The invention relates to the electrical power supply for a contact brush of an electric motor or the like, in the case of which the spring-loaded contact brush is guided in an insulated brush holder which is firmly connected to a stator housing. According to the invention, the electrical power supply to the contact brush (1) is effected via a contact bristle (6) which is loaded against at least one side wall of the contact brush. The invention results in the heating of the contact brush and of the contact brush guide being kept low. The electrical power supply is no longer effected via the contact-pressure spring for the contact brush but via the contact bristles. The electrical resistance which causes the heat can thus be kept low. <IMAGE>
