One or more reagents which form one or more stable gaseous reaction products with the components of the flue gas are added continuously to a relatively small flow representative of the main flue gas flow and with the same temp., pressure and composition. The added reagents (R) are carried along with the sample flow (T) and mixed with it. The reaction products are dispersed in the flow in the form of bubbles, the sound wave ahsorption in the resulting test flow (TB) is measured and the test gas flow is fed into the washing circuit of the flue gas handling system. USE/ADVANTAGE - Quantifying chemical components in flue gas cloud in treatment system with washing device, pref. for oil or solid fuel boiler systems. Enables dynamic, practic. accurate quantification of components at very low cost.
