The sensor contains a light source (4), a light detector (8) and light conductors (5,6) on the transmission and detector sides. A second light detector (9) and associated light conductor (7) are provided. The detector light conductors are arranged at different distances from the transmission light conductor in the needle holder and have light input surfaces of different sizes. The detector light conductor with the smaller light entry surface is mounted nearer to the transmission light conductor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Sample extraction needles of specimen dosing and distribution equipment for analytical measurement using all types of specimen liquids. Increased accuracy of detection of the liq. surface position, prevents additional delays from being caused by sensor.
