The invention relates to a process for filling moulds for the production of moulded blocks from a mixture containing cement, water and aggregates, in which the mixture is introduced into a filling box, from there is transferred to a mould having a plurality of mould cavities and subsequently is compacted under vibration by means of a multiple, raisable and lowerable profile punch. To ensure uniform compaction of the mixture in the mould or the mould cavities, to permit better utilisation of the moulds, to require fewer moulds and to ensure that when moulds with core holder webs are used, the latter undergo only extremely slight wear, the mixture is already proportioned in the filling box according to the required pre-volume and is introduced as an accurately proportioned volume into the mould or into the mould cavities of the same. <IMAGE>
